Meet the Air Movement and Control Association International incoming Board Secretary, Asokdas Damodaran, Managing Director of Systemair India. Asokdas speaks of involvement with AMCA International—including the Board of Directors, the association's role, and general observations about the industry.

Asokdas will ascend to the role of Board Secretary at the upcoming 2022 AMCA Annual Meeting in October.

How do you see AMCA changing in the future?

AMCA is becoming even more of a truly Global association with strategies to strengthen its position in Europe, Middle East, and ASIA. With its strong focus on standards, certification, and advocacy, I see AMCA becoming successful in these regions just as it has in North America. In the coming future AMCA will be truly global!

What are your words of advice for upcoming/younger employees of AMCA member companies?

You may find the HVAC &R Industry to be quite small compared to other Industries. However, our industry is experiencing tremendous growth due to the awareness of the need for ventilation and IAQ—which is directly related to health, productivity, and comfort. With such a positive growth trajectory, this industry will provide you with great opportunities to excel in your career and prepare you to grab the opportunity by enhancing your technical skills.
