What is the key benefit for your company from your association with AMCA?
Having AMCA Certified products enables Central Ventilation Systems to provide high-quality products that perform as rated in catalogs—giving peace of mind to our clients, specifiers, and installers. Participation in AMCA’s Advocacy and Marketing efforts reconfirms our commitment to improving the overall air control industry in the region and globally. We already have several AMCA-certified products, and many more are in the pipeline.
What is the key benefit for you personally from your association with AMCA?
Participation in different AMCA committees and events has provided opportunities for meeting with the best minds and professionals in the industry (regionally as well as internationally), which also helped to further enhance my technical and leadership skills. It is a great feeling to know that you are part of the efforts to make a difference in the industry. Participation in different activities helps me not only stay up to date with the latest and future trends of the industry but also provides an opportunity to influence change as well.
How do you see AMCA changing in the future?
With a more than 100-year-long history, AMCA was initially focused mainly on North America but has recently expanded its reach to other regions, namely the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. The association has worked hard to create awareness about the importance of using certified products to ensure higher energy savings and better air quality. AMCA continues working towards being even more global, while in the Middle East region, AMCA is further stretching its reach to key markets such as KSA and Egypt.
What are your words of advice for upcoming/younger employees of AMCA member companies?
If you want to grow as a professional and learn from the best minds in the industry and enhance your technical and leadership skills, you should start participating in different AMCA committees and activities in your respective region. This will also allow you to network and connect with peers in the industry. You will feel the pride of helping make a difference by working towards the betterment of the air movement and air control industries.
General observations or thoughts about AMCA International?
AMCA is a member-led, industry-focused organization where AMCA members, who might be fierce competitors in their business operations, work together (using different AMCA platforms) to improve industry standards. AMCA not only publishes test standards but also provides testing and certification programs. This is not the case with many other organizations that only publish standards or provide testing and/or certification. AMCA has also shown the intent and capabilities of establishing certified rating programs to cater to the specific needs of the region(s). AMCA Lab Accreditation program provides authenticity to the performance data generated by the tests conducted in such labs.
