ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill., January 6, 2020—On Thursday, Jan. 23, at 11:30 a.m. ET, Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International Inc. will present “Air Curtains: Energy Codes & Standards,” the latest in its AMCA insiteTM (formerly Air System Engineering and Technology) series of free, professional-development-hour- (PDH-) eligible webinars.

Frank Cuaderno

David Johnson

Presented by Frank Cuaderno (left) and David Johnson of AMCA’s Air Curtain Engineering Committee, the hour-long event will focus on air curtains as an alternative to vestibules. In 2019, ANSI/ASHRAE/IES 90.1, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings, became the latest building standard or code to allow air curtains as an alternative to vestibules, joining the International Energy Conservation Code; ANSI/ASHRAE/USGBC/IES 189.1, Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings; and the International Green Construction Code. Cuaderno and Johnson will discuss related requirements, summarize recent research showing the energy savings air curtains provide, and more.

“Air Curtains: Energy Codes & Standards” is sponsored by Berner International, King, and Mars Air Systems. It is worth one PDH through Registered Continuing Education Program (RCEP). To register, click here.
